CORRECT. At the step quick connect at the step you have 4 wires. The WHITE wire is the wire giving you your problem. That white wire goes to the On/Off switch. This wire closes the 12 volts to the control module. That means when HOT (12 volts) the step will NEVER stay extended. When you OPEN the contac(no 12 volts to the module) the step stays extended unless the door is closed and the Ignition key is ON. Someone has wired that white wire HOT all the time or the switch is defective(ON all the time). Doug
