The switch is the one the dealer showed you. It can be on the dash or next to the door.
Mine is next to the door. When operated it energizes a circuit in the control box. This power comes off the motor drive as shown in the manual with the 6 amp fuse.
It should operate the way it did for "first few months"
If the fuse is located under the step, it the fuse holder could be rusted out. This is a bad location for glass fuse type holders as the area under the step gets sprayed by road spray.
Then check switch to insure it is opening and closing.
