Mine did exactly the same thing while in Florida this winter....someone driving next to me waved me down and told me my steps where going in and out while driving. Only did it when the step was in the "on" position. If I turned the step switch off it didn't do it. I'm getting a few things done at the dealer but I will be interested to hear if yours is the magnet or the ground.
