1) Sounds like a ground wire/connection issue. A bad or poor ground connection can cause some unusual and intermittent symptoms to show up. If you have ever seen a trailer with a bad ground, you will notice how sometimes the lights work opposite of how they should.
2) May be a reaction to the bad ground.
3) After the wiring is all checked out for good connections, go through the complete set-up procedure for the Magnatek to insure that things are set up the way they are supposed to be for your batteries.
