electrical inverter

I have a couple rv's & both are giving me the same issue. I can't get the 120v power to work without the generator. (77 Minnie Winnie chevy & 84 imperial rambler). The 84 has new batteries & even with the generator on no 120v. Is there a switch somewhere? Anyone know where I can get manuals for either? Thanks
  • Hi,

In 1977 inverters were sky high in price. There won't be one unless it has been added later.
  • One in 84 is a "PACs 1500". I'll have to check the other.
  • You mention that with the 84 even with the generator on there is no 120 VAC. Generators have circuit breakers, check that first.
  • You didn't mention if you were able to get 120v via shore power. I mention this for consideration because a transfer switch between shore power and generator power may be the culprit, and may need replacing. I have had to replace mine.

You probably don't have an INVERTER installed. These are usually installed by the owner...

Alot of folks get their CONVERTER/CHARGER unit mixed up with a INVERTER Unit.

Post some model numbers and the folks on here can tell you what actually have...
