If they are are the back stab type receptacles, if possible you should change them and use the screw type receptacle. They make a secure electrical connection. The screws will not or should not come loose with the constant heating and cooling of the wire when using high current appliances.
I would start by checking the receptacle that the heater was plugged into first. I also feel that there is going to be a GFIC somewhere before this receptacle. JMO
