If you had power to your 12V systems, and then it slowly died over a period of a few hours, I would start with the CONVERTER output. You could have a tripped breaker on the converter, or you could have a tripped GFI circuit (usually on plug in bathroom or kitchen, hit RESET button) and the CONVERTER is usually plugged into a GFI circuit.

I doubt a inverter/converter would be pluged into any GFI outlet thats not how their wired or work however if u tripped the reset breaker on the inverter/converter it would likely not charge the batterys and is most likely the problem the more i think about it
Not how they're wired or work? That's exactly how mine is wired. My converter is mounted on the floor, under the drawers in the kitchen. I had a problem with an outlet in one of my basement bins that kept the GFI from resetting. When I ran an extension cord from a non-GFI outlet to my converter, it worked fine. I ended up tracing the entire GFI leg to find the bad outlet.
And I'll bet mine isn't the only one wired that way, since many rigs have converters mounted on the floor in a cabinet somewhere.
