electrical problems

my name is dennis live in bridgeville, de, got out of camping and returned. i have a 2007 hurricane 34n motorhome. lost power to the fridge (norcold n611 and heater atwood 8535 iv dclp. checked all grounds and fuses, have 1352 volts coming out of power converter and into 12v circuit board.checked voltage on fridge and have 5 volts not enough to fire fridge.hooked fridge to a 12 volt battery and it worked fine, also ran a jumper wire to the fridge and it worked. coming out of the circuit board are two orange wires that feed the fridge and heater. they only have 5 volts. i don't understand why 1352 is present at the circuit board but not at the end of the wires. checked wires for continuity seemed ok.i am thinking of running new wires but not clear on the heater hookup.any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

  • 13.52v, fairly normal

    you forgot the decimal point

    1352v, will fry everything in the RV

    like posted above, wiring problem, most likely a loose or corroded ground wire
    check the system ground wires, and check the fridge negative/ground wire

    the bedroom light switch should NOT affect the converter fan

    you have a wiring problem, fix it before you have MORE electrical problems
  • Now that sheds some light on problem.
    It is very possible that the grounds are open and the system is getting some what through the bedroom light.
    Look behind the 12 volt DC distribution panel for a group of 12 volt system grounds tied to gether. Often they are crammed into a large wire run.
  • no main fuse in 12v circuit. in my first post i forgot to include that the bedroom light switch controls the 12 volt converter fan.the converter has only two wires red and white and a 120 wire with plug.
  • You may have a main fuse in the 12 volt distribution panel.
    If your battery is charged, disconnect from shore power and check.
    Test using a true ground and not one to 12 volt system. Might try the ground from 120 volt system(not neutral)
