eternabond tape
I would like to seal the roof seems with eternabond tape.There are hard white stuff on the seems.Can I tape right over it or are there more to it.

I removed all of the old caulk from my roof/cap seams before applying 4" wide Eternabond tape.
This tool, with a scraper blade attached, made removal very easy:
