We manufacture electrical items that we ship around the world. All of our European products have at a 3 prong connection.
MM. - RoyBExplorer IIThe Europe Standard AC VOLTAGE is 220VAC at 50Hz where ours is 120VAC at 60Hz.
All of the plugs I ever saw in Germany when I was there in the late 50s in the Air Force were always two prongs which means they possibly do not have a common ground requirement like we do here in the US. I never saw plugs over there like we use here... We always had to have a step down transformer to use our 120VAC items and some things did not like to see their 50Hz sinewave as I recall...
