Sprink-Fitter,
The Baby Boom began at the end of WWII when lots of soldiers came home. The war in Europe ended in April of '45 and ended in Japan in August of '45. Since it takes two to "Tango", that's when the Boom began. The end of the Boom is considered to be 1964 when the first babies turned 18. I'm among the first of the Boomers, born in January, 1946. My Dad was 35 when WWII began, and worked for Proctor And Gamble. During the war, P&G operated factories that produced war materials, so P&G sent my Dad to Tupelo, MS. to manage an artillery shell factory for the duration.
