Extra long shower hose

Our outside shower in the utility bay has the standard 5-6' hose on it. We are wanting one about 10' long that we can use to wash our dogs off with. So far I have not been able to find one that long. I know I could put two together but would rather have one long one. Any ideas where one could be bought?

The hose is a standard shower hose such as you might find at any Hardware store or Home Improvement store or department.

The ends are 1/2 inch IPT

You can extend it easily. .Usually by just getting a 2nd standard hose and a 1/2 inch Pipe Nipple.

I think outside shower is a stretch too. I can't fathom ever taking a "shower" but it is great to wash sand off your feet at the beach, wash your hands etc. Mine is conveniently located under the slide. I'd have to lay down to take a shower.

My wife and I have both showered outside numerous times while boondocking in very private areas, to save on gray tank capacity. Our hose is not too short for us. The outside shower does get used more frequently for foot rinsing after time at the beach and dog washing though. I also have an adapter for a standard hose connection to use when it's needed.

The outside shower is a nice option, to reduce grey tank use when in an private isolated area.
It's also invaluable whenever you are unlucky enough to mix kids with sand!

I removed the hose and shower head completely. Home Depot has an adapter that then screws onto the faucet where you removed the existing hose. The adapter has the correct threads to screw directly on. The other end has standard hose threads. I can now attach a regular garden hose to the faucet. Easier to use now and I can even use it to wash the coach if I'm so inclined.....Dennis
  • Your existing hose screws onto the shower head with a standard SAE pipe thread. Most hardware stores should have a suitable coupling and a replacement hose so you can attach the two together. I use that setup with my inside shower hose, the extension hose, and an SAE to garden hose adapter to use my black tank flushing wand without having to drag a hose through the coach. I made my own coupling and adapter from PVC fittings.
  • Not sure what kind of attachment your shower hose has, but I added an extension to mine in my Springdale (sold 2 months ago). A 1/2 inch size nipple, threaded on both end (3 inches long) from Lowe's and I could attach anything to it. I just happen to have another hose from another outside shower (RV) I'd acquired, so hooked them together. it gave me about 9 feet total, which I was delighted with.

You can get a plastic (PVC) version or a galvanized pipe version. Either will work. Then attach anything you want.
  • I once saw a coiled garden hose with just a garden nozzle on the end hooked into the outside shower taps.

They didn't use it for showering, but did for the dog and for washing dishes outside as well. I think it was 25 feet.

Recently I have seen on TV a garden hose that shrinks back when not in use and expands to full length when water pressure is applied. That might work as well.
