F53 steering damper, recommendation

I want to install a steering damper on my,2000, F53, V10, 20,500 chassis.
What would be the best bang for the buck.
Considering safety, reliability, ease of installation,
Safety steer
Steer safe
Bilstein,,Road master, or other.

Thanks,
Chuck
  • Hey Chuck,
    I've got a 2000 GBM on a 1999 F53.
I added the UltraTrac rear trac bar & the Steer-Safe up front.
    Much improved handling!
(To me the Steer-Safe seemed like the right choice for helping handling and improved saftey.)
Also want to tackle the "Cheap Handling Fix" as the next little tweak.
  • We put a Saf-T Plus on -- but then we did the F53 Easy Fix -- that last simple, free adjustment, front and rear made the most improvement and DH said he wished he had known about it 3 years ago when we got the coach.
  • My 1996 F53 has a yellow (Bilstein?) steering cylinder. Is it a damper? Did these come as OE, or did they have to be added aftermarket?
  • I put a Safe-T-Plus on my F53 23000 lb 38 ft Class A and it seems to be doing a great job.
  • Have had Roadmaster and Safe T Plus. Liked both, maybe Roadmaster a bit more.
  • I just installed a Safe-T-plus in my 2012 F-53 on a 22000 k chassis. Bought the thing from Henderson's Line-Up located in Grants Pass, Oregon. It is very reliable and easy to install. Nice folks out there in Oregon, give them a call.
