Yes BUT: DON'T use WD-40 on electronic parts. It contains waxes etc that can cause problems down the road. Get a contact clearer or electronic cleaner spray. Radio Shack, many auto parts stores.
We kept ours going for a few years this way and finally had to jumper the switch. Just have to remember that closing the vent doesn't shut the fan off! :S
When we get home I'll replace it. (The switch, not the fan!)
