If I was looking to buy a used RV and saw a patch job finished by slapping a piece of tape on the roof, I would look elsewhere.
when an installer sawed a hole in the roof of my Bounder, I just slapped on a EPDM repair kit piece and it looked makeshift from day one. with a fiberglass roof you can make it like new.
depends in part if the OP has any pride in his possessions.
