Over the years I have found it easy to find SP's, NP's,and other public CG's with just a State map or web site , but have never found a web site or maps that list County Parks. I have stumbled upon a few just along my travels and have found them quite nice and very affordable. Has anyone found a web site or another convenient way of locating these parks.

We have found several but it usually takes using our paper map to find out what county we are in, and surrounding counties, and then doing an internet search of parks in that specific county. I also have never found a website that lists every county in every state in the USA.

You can google "county parks by state" then look at the states you will be visiting. That is the way we have found them.

GPS.. search 'county' when you get there. Or, push 'Parks and attractions' shortcut.

Check out POI Factory It's been a great source of information for downloads to Street Atlas for me. They have a downloadable file of over 16,000 private and public campgrounds with name, address, and co-ordinates.

We've found that even not all regular parks are on Allstays. No one site is all inclusive. You need to research in other ways, too.

Also, very nice La Paz County Park on the Parker Strip about 20 miles South of Lake Havasu City AZ. (If your a snowbird) it's across the street from the Desert Canyon Golf Course and it's first come first serve.

Thanks for all the replies. I like the filter that allstays has for the county parks(CP). I wonder how many or what percent are captured.

allstays.com uses info from the state dept. charged with inspecting and licensing camps. Some times city and county camps are regulated by that ahj, so might not be found on allstays. We have found some really neat places that fall under the govt. radar by a call to the local C of C or even the local hardware store.

Allstays and US CGs. Info is all I use... Both on maps making it easy when you do not know an area.

When I wanted to note all the county campgrounds in Oregon, I first searched and noted all the counties. Then I went to each of their websites and was able to find all the info I needed. I bookmarked the sites and organized them for quick recall.
