He is wrong unless he has a concealed carry permit. When his vehicle is in motion, it is the same as an automobile and he can carry a weapon, as long as it is unloaded and stored in his basement compartment, the same as the trunk of his car. Once he is parked, and hooked up to the facilities, it is then considered a house and he can have the weapon at his side, while he is in the coach. As soon as he steps outside, he is illegal.
As far as I know, there are only a couple of states now that will allow a non permit carrying individual to drive his RV with a gun at his side and Florida is NOT one of them.
