Fireplace Pros and Cons

Have had four of them , won't leave home with out one.

We like ours. Much nicer than a portable heater that's a trip hazard.

sowego, THANKS for that. Us noobs need all the help we can get and frozen/busted plumbing is one thing I don't want to learn by experience!

They are a wonderful asset to help heat the interior and also have the comforting view of the fire.

However in more extreme cold I'd not depend on it too much because they will heat up the living space nicely but do nothing to help warm the utility bay. So, be sure the furnace runs enough to keep that bay above freezing. I'm always telling folks...have a remote temp sensor in that bay so you know how cool it is so the furnace can be adjusted to run as much as needed.

Thanks so much for your input. We have found a coach we like and it has a fireplace so guess we're going to be good to go - in January! Can't wait.
