Ok one more silly questions. I know the CG will more than likely sell firewood, but I hate to pay a premium for something like this. What does everybody do? Do they buy firewood there? Do you neve...

If I think about it ahead of time, which I rarely do, I toss it in the RV before I leave. If I don't do that and then remember before I get to the CG (which is also rare) I'll pick some up in town at like $3 for a small bundle.
What usually happens is I pay $7 for that $3 bundle at the campground.
After pumping $$$$ into the 9 MPG beast, a four dollar surcharge doesn't phase me. :)
