Firewood: my experiences:
Buying at a CG store....VERY expensive for what you get. 6-8 pieces, All neatly shrink-wrapped with a plastic handle. You're paying for that. Generally burns good...but too quickly. The ONLY advantage is that it is dry. Kept in the office or in a protective box.
Local "vendors" have firewood for sale....by the wheel-barrow load or "all you can carry"...and this wood often burns well (make sure it's dry) and lasts longer than the cg firewood.
Bring your own: NOT from state to state. Some kinda bug infestation...don't want that to spread. Besides, having your own wood in a storage compartment MIGHT = termites or some other bad guy bug....or even these bugs that are so worrysome.
FLA-GYPSY: How does one get firewood...."buy ahead"? You reserve it?
Note: Watkins Glen NY for the NASCAR races, the State Police will stop you if they see firewood...and ask where you bought it. If you DON'T have a receipt from the local seller, they take the wood away from you.
