Congratulation on your purchase. I purchased a new Winnebago Minnie in 2002 and still drive it today. I chose Winnebago since they made decent quality products in 2002, It has provided wonderful moments with the family and I was fortunate to have started early with the RV life. Also it provided emergency service for the family, (power outage, heat, pandemic). We are not big resort type vacationers, like to eat our own food, sleep in our own beds, and bring our dog.
Back then quality was not great in certain areas of the coach, focus on leaks. Inspect annually and repair. MPG was at 10 on average, gas was at .99 per gallon back in 2002. Gas prices and mpg was not a big concern since it is part of the lifestyle expense.
Same for a home and vehicles, being handy helps, buy quality tools and parts. As you know service centers are difficult to make appointments and good mechanics / coach services are tough to locate especially when there is so much demand. Of course you can get a new vehicle before large repairs are required or hire someone, but that is a different debate same as homes and cars. GoRv.
