First Time RV owner...need some advice please!
Hi there...
My wife and I are buying our first motorhome! We are super excited, but a bit tentative, not knowing really what to look for...we plan to do quite a bit of traveling before the snow flies with our 2 young (2 yrs and 4 yrs old) kids. We've spent numerous hours researching and visiting different dealerships and think we have it narrowed down to a Class C Motorhome just because we like the manueverability of it and we like to "boondock" and it seems like the Class C's give us more flexibility that way. We are looking to spend no more than $25k and have found a 2002 Winnebago Minnie Winnie 30V and a 2005 Fleetwood Jamboree 29V in the same price range. We like them both. Each has pros and cons. We love the slideouts on the Winnie, the glass shower door, and other upgrades, but it is older and we found a gas leak, hydraulic line busted, and batteries drained (all which WE found (and we are not mechanics) and they agreed to fix. However there is a hanging suspect of what else could be wrong? The Fleetwood may lack in space and upgrades, but they are doing a full PDI and orientation for us. Which definitely puts our mind at ease. But how much are we going to miss the extra room on the road for long periods of time? Any thoughts on quality of manufacturing on both? How important is the age difference? Which coach is going to hold its value longer in case we upgrade in the near future? Any other thoughts you might have as we determine which to purchase?
Appreciate your time! Thanks!
