I've seen some older responses on the subject, but looking at new bounders and tiffins they are really hard to tell apart. Lots of similar features and layouts.
Bounder is cheaper though and I assume for a reason?
I know tiffin is top of the line, but what is fleetwood's bounder?
Surely you jest???...:h - ccxnolaExplorerI think you have answered your own question!
- brandonrvExplorerFigured as much :)
Also sort of explains why they have tons of bounders and exactly 3 tiffins and has trouble keeping them in stock hah. - BlackdiamondExplorerBounder is 2nd from the top in the Fleetwood gas class A line up. Southwind is the current top of the line model gas, previous model years like 2009 (roughly) and older it was Pace Arrow.
Use to be Allegro Bay was slotted higher than Allegro Open Road, go figure how these companies come up with their branding. - ed6713ExplorerI would go with a Tiffin product over a Fleetwood product. Much better overall quality.
- timmacExplorerCan't say much about the new Fleetwood company but before BK in 2009 Bounders were a good quality at a good price, maybe not the best but over all good, I just wonder about the new Fleetwood company if they are putting out good motorhomes or not..
- brandonrvExplorerOk what about the sightseer by winniebago.
Seems to be similarly priced. - eadeal55ExplorerI've looked at pretty much all the 36 ft Ford V10 gas models that Fleetwood (Bounder, Southwind), Tiffin (Allegro), Newmar (Canyon Star) and Winnebago (Sightseer) make. All are around the $145-150K retail price range, come with full body paint, 22.5 in tires, bath and a half an a center lounge/slide out L couch.
The Tiffin 36LA is built on a 252 inch 24,000 lb chassis, where as all the others are on 232-234 inch wheelbases, and on a 22,000 lb chassis. For 2014, Tiffin put a residential fridge in the Allegro, which I don't think any other gas model has.
My Bounder has been a GREAT motorhome, never a major problem, just a few things that have broken over the past years. I would buy another one, but if Tiffin is going to offer a longer wheelbase, bigger chassis and diesel like features for the same price, then that's what I plan to buy... - SooperDaddyExplorerFleetwood is made by a large RV builder that makes several different brands. Fleetwood nearly went under several years ago, and was bought out by Allied Recreation Group a few years ago.
The Tiffin is made by the Tiffin Family! A real American Family owned business. Lots of integrity, legendary customer service, awsum RV's with something special called "craftsmanship" which is nearly extinct now days.
They only build 12 Tiffins a day...where other companies turn out RV's like the Keebler Elves make cookies!
Tiffin will work on your rv right there in their factory campground with parts made right there.
And work done by the same guys who made it! I know which brand I'd buy! - AllegroDNomadWe would recommend the Tiffin. Not because we own one but because we have owned another and done a lot of comparison.
