Fleetwood Tioga Montara/Jamboree Searcher/Nexus Phantom

We're looking at moving from our truck camper to a class C. I've read a lot of the info in the FAQ and have identified a few that we think would fit out needs. We want the over cab bunk and want to stay in the 23-25 ft range for ease of towing/launching a boat. So far the Nexus 24P is at the top of our list, but we also like the looks of the Fleetwood Tioga Montara 25K and the Fleetwood Jamboree Searcher 25K. So here are my questions.

1. What is the difference b/n the Tioga Montara and the Jamboree Searcher 25K? Both are from Fleetwood and they appear to be the same. What am I missing?

2. We like the fully molded front cap on the Nexus and the Fleetwoods. Out of the three I mentioned which would you get and why?

3. Are there others in the same price range as the ones I mentioned that I should also look at. The others of the same size and body style don't have the fiberglass nose cap which is why we've crossed them off our list.

Thanks.
  • The Nexus is only sold factory-direct in northern Indiana, right? That might or might not be an issue for you.

Fleetwood and Thor each seem to have dual brands of the same units. Winnebago/Itasca as well. So without looking, you probably are right and those are the same.

I would definitely not want one with a rolled filon cap. I would want the molded fiberglass cap. The Forest River Sunseeker is a lot of bang for the buck, but it has a hybrid of molded cap but with the filon side panels, which bring that dreaded lower seam into play.
