follow up to maiden voyage issues

Just to update everyone on our maiden voyage problems. First to all thank you for your comments. There were no visible oil leaks under the motorhome. The tranny was down 6 litres of oil and maybe it was never filled properly when I had all fluids changed shortly after purchasing the unit(less then 800 miles on unit since change out). The MH has know been towed to a garage near home at considerable expense, and I will keep you all posted as we learn more. Two more thoughts before I go. Should the tranny not of alerted me It was low on oil and second shame on me I did not check fluid levels prior to leaving, lesson learned. Wondering if low tranny oil is just a coincidence and the problem is something else?

You will probably be alright! Check regularly for awhile to keep an eye on things!

I have the Allison transmission and I had a fan explode on the front of my engine which took out ONE of the four cooling lines going to the transmission and radiator. We were on a single lane highway in a climb at the time. The radiator temperatures started to climb quickly and I was getting temperature warnings but until our forward motion stopped, almost a mile later, I had NO warnings or indications from the transmission that we were losing fluid, or other problems. We ended up stuck in the middle of the road, with no place to pull over and had to be towed to a service facility a few miles down the road. Once a new hose was installed on the transmission, and it was filled to the proper level with Transynd, we had zero problems with our transmission shifting, etc. That was almost 25,000 miles ago and the Allison is doing fine. They really are a bullet proof transmission.
