Keep in mind that brake fluid is extremely flammable. So, if you get your brakes hot enough to compromise the puck synthetic rubber puck seals and the brake fluid starts leaking out, you have an instant fire too.
With a dragging caliper, I'd be concerned with the wheel bearings too. The heat from a dragging caliper will cook the grease in the hub and destroy the bearings.Again, SOP for me is rotor replacement when doing a brake job and a brake job always consists of new calipers as well, well rebuilt calipers, all calipers are exchange anyway. I have a friend who owns a company that rebuilds calipers, they never wear out, just keep getting recycled with new insides.
