Ford chassis roadside assistance

New owners might not be aware of this. I just realized this tonight.

I thought I had the 3 years/36 month bumper to bumper warranty that comes with the new rig and that would include roadside assistance. Perusing my Ford documents tonight for something else, I read this:

5-Years or 60,000 Miles
Roadside Assistance**

This 24 hour, seven-days-a-week Hotline is a standard feature on all Ford Motorhome Chassis. By dialing 1-800- 444-3311, Ford Motorhome Chassis Customers also have access to:
• Flat Tire Changes (No Charge with Ford)
• Jump Start For A Dead Battery (No Charge with Ford) • Gasoline, If Out of Fuel (No Charge with Ford)
• Vehicle Lock-Out Service (No Charge with Ford)
• Towing To The Closest Dealer (No Charge with Ford)

(** whichever occurs first)

This would correspond to the power train warranty.

Maybe this isn't new to others but I am thinking about passing on the Good Sam or Coach Net.

How many have had breakdowns that needed roadside assistance that didn't include any of the above?
  • Good to know. I'm writing that number down, but hopeing I never need it.. :)

So, maybe Ford pays Coach Net? Who knows? Ford probably pays somebody to handle roadside assistance for all of their new vehicles. You're right, I'll probably get one of these services on the other end of the line should the need arise.

I did have 1 year of Coach net from Tiffin. That just expired and that got me into this research mode.

I have another piece of roadside assistance from my insurance carrier. I'm just fishing for info on what else may cause me to need another roadside assistance service. Right now, I'm thinking save your money. Don't pay for something twice or three times.

If there are other situations I could find myself in that would merit the extra coverage, I might stick with a roadside assistance program too.
