- wa8yxmExplorer IIIRanger After you get your 2nd opinion report that first shop which wants to do thousands of unneeded work to the SOS..
Ford has a real issue here.. I used to live near 7MI and Telegraph, My wife drove a Mercury so I took it to the Ford dealer who used to be on 7 and Grand River (Walking distance to home) and they pulled much the same thing on me.. They also did some damage (on purpose) and charged me over 300 to fix that.
What was the porblem that caused me to talk it in?
They screwed up a routine tune up.. (Did only part of the job, charged for the whole thing) I finished it later for under 20 bucks.. Last time I was in the area that dealer was no more.. Padlocked it appears and out of business.
Also write Ford. But do get a second opinion.
NOTE: Ford dealers are not the only ones who pull this stuff,, But that's another story. - Rangerman375ExplorerThanks for all of the responses. The place that I usually take my MH in for service has changed hands.
My class A only has 15K miles on it and runs like a champ. While it was in for the annual PM service, they are telling me my transmission has "serious problems" and they are trying to sell a flush with "no guarantees" and then a possible "rebuild".
Makes no sense to me, MH has run fine since I have had it and I have several hundred miles on it this year so far with no issues. No shifting problems, idiot lights, etc.
I smell a rat so I am looking to take my business elsewhere.
Thanks again. - ggardne2ExplorerBill Brown Ford in Livonia has a commercial truck center that can accommodate motor homes.
