Scangauge installs on the OBD2 port under the steering wheel. It basically gives you access to the data the vehicle computer already has.

It's accurate, as long as the vehicle transmission temp sensor is accurate.

There are some newer OBD2 devices that will give you the same information. I'm just not as familiar with them.
