OK so I have a 2004 coachmen on a ford chassi. Where do I check for this ebrake leaking thing?
It is a drum assembly located between your transmission and the drive shaft. It is filled with ATF and whatever leaks usually hits the exhaust causing smoke. When parked, it will leave a small puddle on the ground like any other lubricant leak. Crawling under and doing a visual is a good idea.
to check the level of fluid, you have to have the Ebrake off (of course) and remove the linkage from the Ebrake assembly. There is a bolt behind and above the hinge point where the arm the linkage was attached to connects to the body. They are usually overfilled from the factory and you will get ATF spilling out when you remove the bolt if you have never lost a drop. When installed, it should be filled to the hole similar to a differential.
