Ford Engine size

I have a ford engine in my 2014 Newmar Bay Star. What size is it? No books came with it.

Any way to determine if the oil in the engine is synthetic?
  • If it's the V10 Triton engine, it's 6.8L. The horsepower varies with application, tuning, model year, etc. Any kind of oil can be used as long as it meets the manufacturer's specifications for that engine.

  • Your Bay Star has a Ford Triton 6.8L V-10 engine. Determining the current oil type would require a lab analysis, so your best bet is to just have the oil of choice installed at the next change. There's no harm in switching to a full synthetic from a non-synthetic or vice-versa.
  • I've owned 3 vehicles with the 6.8L Ford V10, one of them a 2014 F53 chassis, and IIRC all of my owner's manuals recommended Motorcraft 5W-20 synthetic blend.
  • 6.8 V-10 with approx 360 HP and 460TQ. The trans is a 5speed torque shift.
It requires 5w20 synthetic blend oil.

And since your MH is a 2014 it is very possible it has a 2013 chassis. But the specs are still the same.
  • Follow the change interval and use the recommended syn oil and expect to get at least 300K from that engine.
  • Ford's tend to run semi-synthetic oil - works well.

    And yes, its a 6.8L V10.
