To the OP as someone else stated airbags will not smooth out the bumps, just allow you to carry more load.
Have someone check the front shackles in the leafs for full movement. If it's an older rig they could very well be frozen solid. Oil between the leafs and shackles that are functional will go a long ways to a smoother ride.
Just remember the F53 uses horse buggy suspension technology. Just like Big Katuna says you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear. On the other hand, hopefully you didn't pay for a silk purse either.
