It's just not true that the V10 gets its peak torque at a MUCH higher RPM than the 8.1. Another Internet myth.
V10 torque 457 @ 3250 RPM
8.1 torque 455 @ 3200 rpm
It is true that the V10 gets its horsepower at a much higher RPM than the 8.1.
