Forest River Georgetown XL 377

I really like the floor plan of this unit. Looking for information from owners concerning floor, mileage, storage and overall experience.

We currently have a Class C Minnie Winnie with a full slide but may go full time in the future and with 3 dogs I would like more space.

Thanks for your replies.
  • We had a Tioga 31M and back in February traded it in for a GT XL 377TS. I wanted a different one but DW fell in love with this floor plan and there was no going back. We have taken 3 trips in it so far and for the most part it has been good.

There are the usual stuff that you have to deal with when you buy an RV, and some have been somewhat strange - see below re cushion, but so far the dealer is trying to get it all taken care of.

I am not really sure what you mean by flooring, but the tiles are nice. Our grout is a bit dirty from all the people walking in and out of it at the dealer but they have promised to clean it. As for gas mileage, honestly I have not paid that much attention to it but it does not seem that much worse than our Class C.

One thing you should know is although the residential fridge is nice to have, it is a killer on the batteries and running it on propane is not an option. From what I have read the inverter that is provided will only go for 4-5 hours and then has an automatic shut off when the battery gets low, so if you are dry camping your fridge will probably turn off every night. I am seriously considering getting some solar panels, but that is an expensive proposition.

Make sure your dealer shows you the dinette as a bed. Ours, and many others from what I have read on the Forest Rivewr forum, did not come with a cushion you need for it to work as a bed. The buttom and back cushions you have when it is in dinette mode will not form a bed no matter how you configure them.

If you are handy, which I am not, and can add stops and straps in storage area then all the pass thru space is good. As is, for now, mine is a complete waste because I am afraid if I put anything up there it will slide back and forth and slam into the doors as I drive and turn left or right.

    Hope this helps.
  • 2dog,
You should go to forestriverforums.com and look around there. There is a section devoted to Georgetown and you should be able to get some good info.
