Forrest River Sunseeker 2500TS

I am 90% convinced that have found a quality unit that is small enough to be easy to drive but with 3 sludges to make it feel much bigger, inside: the Sunseeker 2500TS. IT IS LOADED WITH FEATURES. And has good walls structure and a fiberglass roof. Does anyone have comments on this unit?
Secondly, is it dangerous to buy from internet sales when you can save 8 to 10% vs staying loyal to a regional dealer and paying more?
  • I guess by "sludges" you are talking about slides?? that is a very interesting floor plan. We have the 2450 and really like the quality of Forest River. They have really improved over the years and provide a quality product.
  • I am not sure if you mean an internet site but is still a dealer, is a private party?
    Here are some thoughts:
buying local keeps a shop in business and possible gives you a close source when any repairs are needed.
Online may give you a lower price, but what is the cost of driving far off for warranty work if the unit is used?
If the units are really identical, why not see if the local can come down in price or maybe add something to the deal?
  • Early this year, we purchased a Sunseeker (2690s), a discontinued floorplan in 2014, with a few still available earlier this year. After much research, the Sunseeker’s fiberglass roof, walls, over-quality inside, and availability & price point sold us.
So far, close to 7,000 miles in, it is a great unit.

We purchased 500 miles away, couple of reasons:
    • Finding the particular floor plan (local did not have & could not order)

    • Also, for what-ever reason, our area, Class C’s are not as aggressive on pricing (most likely supply & demand), we talked to local dealers some about pricing other close units, and they were still going to $5-$7k more (estimated).

We have had a back-up camera warranty issue & communicating with Forest River, I was able to get it fixed under warranty locally, they will work with you, key is to communicate & check options in your area for RV serving centers. Just had to do the leg work, which if you buy locally, the supporting dealer would handle.

Forest River has a really active Forum (even with Forest River Reps), supporting their product & customers. Spend some time here, checking threads and information!

3 slides is a lot of action, check one out, with slides in, how functional is it, meaning while traveling, also the folding bed made us not consider those types (just our likes & styles of traveling). We sought out a "Medium" length one 29 ft staying away from 30+ ones, and have found once getting some experience driving the 29 ft one, is still pretty easy in and out of parking lots, tight areas, etc...
  • We bought our 2300 Sunseeker from RvDirect.com and drove 300 miles to pick it up. Their price was $8000 less than the best dealer price I could get--and the closest dealer was already a couple hundred miles away. The PDI from RvDirect was outstanding. Everything was checked out and working. Since then we have had only a few minor issues. FR helped with them all, including sending small parts so I could repair myself, and arranging a nearby dealer to fix a heat pump issue.

We love our floor plan (no slides) because everything is usable when on the road. We sometimes stop at rest areas for a few hours sleep or to have a meal and can get to everything, including the ready-to-use bed. Unit is small enough to handle in city driving and parking, shopping centers, etc. Have not used a toad, but have rented a car on a few occasions where we were staying longer and using campsite as a base for further travel.
