Forward kitchen?

Husband and I looking to upgrade our gasser to a DP. Looking at resales and I see many of the forward kitchens models. Is this an indication they are not popular to keep? Anything I should be aware of should we go that direction? We are leaning towards the Winnebago/Itasca. Thanks folks!

Besides the weight issues, it makes the front seats less usable... To far from the other seats to carry on a conversation. I'm afraid it will go the way of the side door. If you keep a rig a long time and you like the layout, go for it.
  • I seem to remember something about Winnebago/Itasca. having weight issues with the front kitchen models.

Get your front axle weight rating and insist upon weighing the coach before purchase.
  • Forward kitchen is in almost every mfg's floor plan options so it has become quite common. Can't say it would help or hurt resale.
  • my 2013 Itasca Ellipse GD has the front kitchen and we love it. We did not want the bath and 1/2 and we wanted the large TV and lounge area.
