Free RV Storage?

The lucky people have a nice big driveway or barn to store their motorhome.
Lots of people pay an RV storage facility.

But has anyone found any innovative ways of getting a FREE place to park your motorhome when you're not on the road.

We haven't bought yet, but my driveway is only 17 feet, so a 35 foot Class A just ain't gonna fit!

Per your profile, you're a pastor. How about your church grounds.

Our church actually only has street parking :( And actually I'm thinking more of when I retire (soon) and move to our 700 sq ft. lake house.

Has anyone convinced a local business to let you use their oversize parking lot?
  • If your ex military some bases allow you to store your RV for free. In my neck of the woods, Joint Base McCord (Air Force) / Fort Lewis (Army) allows free RV Storage.

    it wasn't luck ;)
  • If you are a pastor, just impose upon one of your church members. Just remember to tell them they would be doing the Lord's work. Why would you think that you should be able to store your RV for "FREE"?

I actually had a single lady purchase a home next door where the previous owner had built a storage barn for his 5th wheel RV. She allowed me to store my 5th wheel RV there. I did take my tractor and do some yard work for her.

I eventually built my own storage barn.

As I found out, stopping delivery of our newspaper while we were traveling turned out to be a notice to burglars as well. The police caught our newspaper delivery man sneaking around the back of our house at 3AM while we were on one of our trips.

Another plus for living in a gated, guarded, camera'd, HOA. Which means, our RV can't be on the property.

I've rented a storage garage for 9 yrs. The 'fantastic' owner hasn't changed my rent since we first signed up in 2007.
I probably only use it 4 months a year but pay all year long.

He also owns the RV repair shop and RV supply store next door to the facility.
I shop there often in appreciation of his generosity of keeping our rate the same. He did tell me that I'm his longest renter (out of the 100 RV garages).

    MM.
