Freeze protection

My old MH was a Mandalay with uninsulated windows and it had a heater in the utility bay area (black, gray, potable, etc.) Well now I have a Tuscany with insulated windows, which I would think has a cold weather type package, but I don't see any heater in the utility bay area. Is there some other sort of heat that one would expect in the utility bay? I did have a comment that there are typically holes in the floor system that will allow a small amount of heat from the living area to venture down into the bay areas. Is this right?
  • Hi,

For more serious cold get a 100 watt or 200 watt heater from Walmart and plug it into a TC-3 thermocube.
  • Trouble light with 75 watt bulb connected to one of those Thermocubes will do the trick. Thermocube will turn on light when temp drops to 35F and turn it off at about 45F. Thermocubes can be purchased at Tractor Supply, hardware stores, etc.
  • Check the owners manual. If in doubt place a small wattage light bulb in the bay. Make sure it is not touching anything
