Fresh Water System Sanitizing & Treatment

Other than the use of household bleach to sanitize your fresh water tank, are there any other products available to buy precisely for eliminating and preventing algae's? I've most recently read in May issue of MotorHome that Purogene is quite effective. Would this be the best alternative to household bleach?

    Bleach first and a good rinse, then White Vinegar to remove any left over bleach. Been doing it this way since mid 70s. Never had any issues. Run all faucets with the bleach solution and flush clean water, then the vinegar same thing.

    Do you have a mold or something or just being careful.
