They do make 3 way refers, 110, propane and 12 volt. The 12 volt will usually keep the refer cold if it was already cold when switched to 12 volt. You don't see too many 3 way refers anymore but they use to be common. I had one in my 78 Winnebago Elabdan II and it worked great.
