First and foremost, I don't see the point of even having a 12 V mode.....since it adds initial cost and is pretty much worthless unless you are away from shore power AND out of propane.
(Edit: Since it only uses 12 V when the engine is running, this point is moot, I guess.)
Second, it's not really good for batteries to rapidly discharge to low levels and then rapidly recharge over and over. Key words are "rapidly" and "low".
Last, the fridge uses so little propane that this should be your preferred mode of operation. You need your batteries for other things.
