Fridge too cold

Testing will tell. Also I was told by some one that works on them that there are one size fits all thermositers out there sold by many shops. And for me to stay away from them. Get the one for that model from Dometic or some one that has the complete listing and will order the right part. A fridge that works is worth more than a few bucks saved.

True, I guess I should test the new one. I'm sure it was a China part. I did recently get a Dometic factory repair manual and has the resistence table on testing the thermositer.

On Saturday, while north of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the fridge quit working. It was blinking one long and 5 short. I went to 2 separate RV centres and they both determined that the mother board needed to be replaced; however, they needed to order the part and I would have had to delay my travels by more than 72 hours.

I pressed on with no fridge, warm beer and a not to happy wife.

In North Battleford, Saskatchewan, a Norcold dealer reset the mother board, refused payment and sent me on my way.

So far the fix is working and the fridge is cold!

New thermositers do fail..

I had the same problem on my Dometic and replaced the thermosister and it did fine for a few days and went right back you way to cold, it get down to 26F in the fridge lol. I suspect my control board. But will check all the connections first.

X-2 , I never heard of one being too cold, usually they are too warm.

Agree with every one else. When the thermistor fails it fails on. Meaning the fridge runs all the time and gets very cold. Replacing is minor work.

Norcold Manual courtesy Chris Bryant. The Thermistor Test is on Page 20. Like the Dometic I tested, the common test is to make an ice/water bath which is close to 30*F and measure in k-Ohms. Spec is around 30k-Ohm.
Of course, there could be other problems.

too cold is way better than too warm and mine is WAY too warm

It is a Norcold refrigerator, model number N611FLT.

For information we are spending the night at "Nipigon, Ontario." The weather is spectacular - clear blue sky. The leaves are all changing colors - oranges and reds - it is incredibly beautiful. On the other hand the fridge is so cold the milk is frozen.
