Front and Rear Caps

I have just had a new roof put on my motor coach. The front and rear caps are fiberglass. While looking at the finished product at the dealer, I noticed dark visible spots on both. ( The coach was parked on a street side leaning incline so as the entire roof was seen).

I noticed on both caps a big spot of something, and after asking the
repairer what this was, he said "It's rust, don't worry about it".
I intend to keep this coach a long time, has anybody ever hear of this? Why not worry about rust? This is not window frame rust by the way.

P.S. would a picture help??

  • Yep,
Without pictures showing just what you're concerned about and, what's showing, it's pretty hard to help you with your issue here. It's also pretty hard to imagine "Rust" of any type, on any ROOF on any RV out there because, primarily, there's really no RV roofs out there that have steel or metal roofs that will rust. There's aluminum roofs but, they don't rust. There's rubber roofs but, they don't rust. And, there's fiberglass roofs and they surely don't rust.

So, this is a new one on me, that's for sure. Pics would be a good thing here.

  • A picture would surely help.

Is your roof material metal, vs fiberglass?

Do you suspect the dealer created the spots in his work process?

Have you tried to erase the spots with some soap and water or bartenders friend?
