Front Mount Spare Tire

I didn't want to hi-jack the other threads on spare tire's for class c, so...
Do any of you carry a spare tire/rim on a front mount hitch? Several places carry front mount hitches for E-450's, and I remember seeing one in a pic on the forum's on an older unit.
My Lexi has a spare, and I'm capable of changing it myself, except it just chained/bolted to the frame rails at the rear, making it a lousy job to get access to it.
Just wondering how much the air flow would be cut by mounting it up front. Another plus would be the addition of around 150 lbs to the front to offset a light rear.

  • Are you saying it is underneath the back on the frame or on the back bumper standing up? When you say its a lousy job to get at, I am thinking underneath. If it is, I would get a bumper mount for the back. To me, mounting on the front looks awful, plus the airflow issues....Bikes look awful too, but thats just me
