Front Shocks Replacement Question

8.1L 496, Chevy V8,
P32 Workhorse  W24 -- 24,000 GVRW
I noticed some popping -- loud popping when hitting any type pothole/bump -- in the right front coming from the wheel well and I believe my shocks are bad.
The Workhorse part number for the front shocks on my coach is W0006254 at $100 each. While I've replaced auto shocks before I've never replaced ones in a coach. Anything special I need to know or do?

    I agree ... I got under the coach and decided he inside top bolt looked like something I could have done years ago, but don't want to tackle now. I'm having my local garage replace them next week

    One thing about trying to change your shocks yourself is that even if you run in to a problem that is beyond your capabilities, the vehicle is still drivable to a shop.

    After reading many stories here on shock replacement...I'm going to pay a shop to do mine. I'm no stranger to a wrench, but, just doesn't seem worth the hassle if something DOES go wrong, i.e. seized nut, stripped threads, etc.
    Will be taking mine to a truck center nearby and paying them the 1 or 2hrs labor rate. Probably have my Allison serviced at the same time, before I head south in March.

    Yes, it could be the shocks, could be sway bar bushings, ball joints, etc.

    I had a porposing problem when my MH was new and workhorse installed 2 new Monroe gas magnum's on the front. Took care of the problem. Then I installed 2 new Monroes on the rear last year. I bought the Monroes from Stengle bros pretty reasonable. Check here you might find a better price then $100.00. Stengle Bros

    I have changed mine on my F53 and it was very easy to do. I just had to have a larger socket and longer breaker bar then when doing a car. On mine I did not even have to raise it up, I was able to sit in the wheel well and change them.

    Only 25,000 miles on the coach. I had it looked at while in the shop and one of the mechanics said both were leaking.
