Front Windshield Privacy Curtains

Just wondering if anyone has replaced their front windshield privacy curtains and where did you get new ones? Also if you could give me a ballpark idea as to price. Ours have some water damage that the dry cleaners have not been able to help us with. Been thinking of buying some drapes and asking my bride to hem them to correct length. Just wondering how you might have solved the problem of replacing yours.

Thanks, Arnold
  • Thanks for the replies. Gary Manufacturing has custom made drapes for my front windows, but they are over $500.00. Too rich for my blood. I just went to Amazon and purchased two sets of drapes. Cost was $59.99. They are from Utopia Bedding. My bride will hem them to the 48 inch length we need. I haven't taken them out of the box yet, but I will let you know how they work as soon as we can work on them.

The only concern I have is that they will hang correctly on the rail I have up front. Oh well, just another adventure with our Bus. Arnold
  • You could use a full sized pull down shade as we do. But don't use the Home Depot variety (quality) but rather an independent shade/decorating Co to get a good quality HD roller shade.

Following this thread as our curtains need replacing too. The paper thin liner is literally falling apart. Can you install MCD's yourself?
  • I had the neighbor lady make me new drapes. I kept the same tract and had to use the little alligator type clips with a ring and hooked them to the roller on the tract. I tried using grauments ( sp ) but that didn't work well. I used the same pull stick. It worked great and cost me 2 yards of material and a couple dozen hooks.
  • It might be a good idea to at least consider replacing them, and the shades, with the MCD electric day/night shades. They are more expensive but well worth the investment.
  • It's easy to get some custom ones made. There are a lot of crafty people on Etsy with sewing abilities. Just ask them. They'll need the approx dimensions and will put solar material on the exposed side.... It's the place to go for custom.
