fuel additives in Winnebago vista 36y

our rv has been sitting for 3 months in one spot. We live in it but are now leaving to travel. My concern is if the gas that has been sitting is ok or do I need to add additive to it? This is our first class A as we just traded our 5th wheel. We filled the gas full because we were wintering and didn"t know how much gas we would need to run the heater.

  • Is the fuel really gasoline or is it diesel ?
Or is it propane.....as gasoline nor diesel is typically used for heating.

You should have put stabilizer into the engine fuel before your last run; same with the generator.

NOW....you should put some multi-purpose fuel additive in the engine fuel to help with cleaning and water removal.......only because you didn't stabilize when you should have.

OR....if everything runs, just RUN IT and do better next time.
  • The OP is a bit confusing. I hope they come back and explain what gas and what heater they are talking about.
  • I'm confused. When you mention "gas", I assumed you meant gasoline not propane. For the gasoline in your tank, you could have added Stabil or some kind of fuel stabilizer to keep fuel in good condition. Doing it now would require a drive around to mix it with existing fuel, but, at this point, the season will be with us soon and you will be burning that fuel anyway. For the propane tank, no additive needed. Unless your heating system is powered by gasoline?
