Fuel economy on Thor Super C

Thor Super C - Just picked it up yesterday, Ford F550, Super C, Diesel 6.7L. Drove it back from Alvarado, Texas and got between 8.5 and 10 MPG depending on conditions and speed. I reset the meter several times to get various readings. Next time, I will leave it and use most of a tank for a proper reading. This is a nice coach, drives great, has good power, is quieter than my last unit, but Thor really could have done things a bit different, ie....after market radio, no XM, no NAV? Really? A Larriat packed was NOT available, yes, I tried since my other vehicle is a F450, King Ranch, Dually with the 6.7L - that I also tow a 2010 42 Fuziion - trip axle - just fine. Jer in Texas
