FYI - I spoke to someone that drove a HOST 330 (a while back) that stated they only got 8.5 mpg and when towing a decent sized trailer, it went down substantially. I REALLY like the HOST 330 with the 4wd, and the 4 door cab - but don't like the price. That is why I went with the Thor Super C, 6.7L Diesel. Jer in Texas
We had certain criteria that needed to be met if we were to switch from a 2011 Chevy 3500 crew cab, Dmax/Allison, long bed dually, 4x4 and a new truck camper. #1-Had to have 4 wheel drive, #2 Had to be 4 season capable, #3 This should be #1 but had to have a minimum of 10,000# tow capacity, #4 had to be within our budget. I setup alerts on eBay and RV Trader for the Host Super C and looked at a few but nothing met our level of condition. I was out of town for work when I received an alert at about 11 pm on a thursday for the rig we eventually bought. It had very low miles, priced well within our budget and looked great. I emailed the owner and asked him to call me. He called the next day while I was driving home. We talked for over an hour. I told him I would visit him the next weekend and I did. This rig looked brand new. The owner had the same mentality as me when it comes to toys and he took great care of this RV. He wanted something bigger and on a class 8 chassis so he was selling the Host to be able to make a deal on a bigger nicer more expensive RV. He and I made a deal and he in turn bought the other RV within a couple weeks after our money exchanged hands.
Sorry for the rant but my point is, we wanted a rig setup just like the Host so we waited for about 4 months until we found a pre owned rig in excellent condition. It just all worked out seamlessly. I made the deal on the Host, then sold my truck camper, then my dually, all within about 30 days.
