I find that it helps to let the MN sit for about 30 minutes after you shut the engine off. Before I loosen the gas line fittings I also remove the gas cap in case there is any pressure build up in the tank. Then get the proper open end or line wrenches, put them in place and then throw a rag over the fittings (Goggles!) and crack the fittings open and let the pressure release for a minute or two and then remove the fittings. When reinstalling the new filter make sure you observe the IN and OUT markings on the filter as you put the filter back in place. Clean up and then turn the ignition key to ON, let the fuel pump run and look for any fitting leaks. No leaks? Go ahead and start the engine and check again for leaks. No leaks? record the date and mileage for your future use.
